Comrades,
In today’s evolving banking landscape, maintaining the relevance of the workforce is not merely desirable—it is imperative. This cannot be achieved solely through the bipartite mechanism; it also requires conscious, continuous, and proactive intervention, especially when the very foundation of employment security is under threat.
The All India Bank Employees’ Association (AIBEA), founded in 1946 during a time of national economic hardship and the freedom struggle, has stood firm as a pillar of strength for the working class. Its unwavering commitment to justice and equity has led to landmark achievements such as the nationalisation of banks and the establishment of the bipartite settlement system—both of which have transformed the banking sector and the lives of its employees.
Today, AIBEA remains at the vanguard, safeguarding these hard-won victories. As an affiliate of AIBEA, the All India State Bank of India Employees’ Association (AISBIEA) bears an even greater responsibility to uphold and strengthen these legacies within the largest lender in the country.
While the service conditions of our bank employees are guided by bipartite settlements, it is equally crucial to have a trade union that is anchored in strong ideological foundations. The consistent and principled interventions of AISBIEA within the bank are a powerful reflection of this unwavering commitment.
To the entire workforce, we reaffirm our pledge: our struggle will persist—for a decent work culture, for job dignity, and for the protection of every hard-earned right. Together, we shall continue to rise.
Comradely yours,
